Opening day Wednesday for new Ollie’s Place

Ollie’s Place, a craft-beer tap room, whiskey bar, restaurant, and retail beer-and-wine carryout, will open to the public at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at 518 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, its general manager said this morning.

The 8,000-square-foot bar-restaurant will open with 48 employees, according to Ollie’s Place general manager and beer curator Gus Stathes. The tap room, pub and restaurant are poised to open fully on Wednesday, although there is a possibility that a software glitch may postpone the opening of the retail beer-and-wine retail store portion of Ollie’s, Stathes said.

Ollie’s Place, located next to Hauer Music in space that previously housed a Krispin’s store, will have 60 taps dedicated to craft brews. It will offer as many as 225 whiskeys from around the world — Kentucky bourbons, single-malt Scotches, Canadian whiskies and Irish whiskies — at its bar. The pub and the full-service restaurant will have separate menus.

Ollie’s Place founder and owner Mike Schwartz is owner of Belmont Party Supply at 2621 S. Smithville Road in Dayton. That store will remain open, as will its adjacent Brewtensils shop that sells home-brewing equipment, Schwartz has said.

This is the second craft-beer tap room to open in Washington Twp. this spring. Last month, Chappys Social House opened at 7880 Washington Village Drive in space that previously housed Champp’s sports bar.
