Oregon District building sold to investment group

The Oregon District building that houses Salar Restaurant and a number of retail businesses has been sold to a Turkish-American investment group, Dayton officials announced Friday.

Investors Adil Baguirov and Islom Shakhbandarov have purchased the 410 E. Fifth St. building owned by Dr. Michael Ervin, according to the Downtown Dayton Partnership. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The property currently houses Salar Restaurant & Lounge, Spice Paradise, Color of Energy Gallery, Hicks Barber Shop, and the Grass Roots Enrichment and Wellness Center.

Baguirov said the investors are committed to the success of the existing tenants. Their top priority is to lease the remaining space to businesses that will further enhance the property, he said.

Baguirov and Shakhbandarov became interested in the building because of its location near the Ahiska Turkish American Community Center on East Fifth Street, officials said.

“The new owners are truly passionate about this property and how they can play a role in downtown’s success,” said Sandra K. Gudorf, Downtown Dayton Partnership president, in a statement.
