Pitney Bowes cuts to begin in May; 73 jobs lost

MIAMISBURG — Pitney Bowes Inc. will close its facility at 1 Kohnle Drive by Sept. 30, the company said in a March 15 letter to the state Department of Job and Family Services.

The facility’s closing will eliminate 73 positions, with the cuts to begin on May 15. As of March 15, four employees have indicated an interest in relocating, according to the letter written by Gerald O’Sullivan, vice president, global supply chain.

The facility’s warehouse operations are being relocated to a company facility in Whitestown, Ind. The remaining operations will be handled by a third-party vendor, the freight-forwarding company CEVA Logistics.

Pitney Bowes, a maker of mailing products, postage meters and related systems, is headquartered in Stamford, Conn.
