The Dayton market’s largest health system is making a slight change to its name.

Premier Health Partners is now doing business as Premier Health, dropping the “Partners” from the end of the organization’s name, officials with the group said.

This is part of a rebranding effort that began in recent months, Premier Health spokeswoman Diane Ewing said.

Premier Health is the Dayton metro’s second largest employer behind Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Premier Health has more than 14,000 employees.

The nonprofit organization operates four hospitals — Middletown’s Atrium Medical Center, Miami Valley Hospital downtown including Miami Valley South in Centerville, Dayton’s Good Samaritan Hospital and Upper Valley Medical Center in Miami County, as well as outpatient locations and doctor practices throughout the region. It operates in seven counties.

The system was founded in 1995.

In 2007, Premier Health announced it was adopting its current logo, and completed changes to its signage in 2008.

Premier Health described its symbol in 2007 as a double letter “P” designed to show the connections and continuity among Premier’s member organizations. It represents a system-wide commitment to support patients, their families and physicians, Premier Health said at the time.
