Primanti Brothers plan to open popular restaurant in Beavercreek

Primanti Brothers, a popular restaurant chain in the greater Pittsburgh area, is planning to open a new location in Beavercreek.

The new restaurant would be located on North Fairfield Road near Target if preliminary plans are approved by the city council and planning commission.

Primanti Bros. is known for its “Almost Famous” sandwich which includes meat, coleslaw and french fries on Italian bread. The 24-hour restaurant has also been featured on the Food Network and the Travel Channel.

Beavercreek would be the third Primanti Bros. location in Ohio. The company has three locations in Florida and 14 in Pennsylvania.

“It’s exciting that the first Primanti’s (in Ohio) is going to be here in Beavercreek,” said Randy Burkett, a city planner. “It’s a whole bunch of development going on in the same area, so it shows the confidence the investors and builders have in order for Beavercreek to continue to be a sustainable area of development.”

Beavercreek City Council approved plans, last month, for a new Hobby Lobby in the same area near the restaurant, Burkett said. Plans for a IHOP in that area were also recently approved.

The city planning commission will discuss the company’s development application during a meeting on June 3. Plans for the restaurant have to be approved by the city planning commission before going to the city council for approval.

“Once city council makes that decision, then the applicant can move forward with permits from us and permits from Greene County,” said Sandra Pereira, a Beavercreek associate planner.

Primanti Bros. declined to comment on the project at this time.
