SideBar opens in the former Pacchia location

DAYTON — SideBar, the bar and restaurant in the former Pacchia location in Dayton’s Oregon Historic District, will open fully tonight, May 6, owner Brian Higgins said.

Higgins has closed the original SideBar lounge at 130 W. Second St. in downtown Dayton as part of the opening of the new SideBar at 410 E. Fifth St. The bar opened at the new location earlier this week, and tonight marks the first night the full restaurant menu will be available, Higgins said. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 9 for Mother’s Day.

Dinner menu items include Beef Tenderloin Skewers with Cabrales Blue Cheese Sauce, Chicken & Shrimp Skewers In Spicy Green Almond Sauce and Crab Stuffed Piquillo Peppers in Romesco sauce. Pizza, salads, vegetarian entrees and desserts also are served, and there is a separate bar and lounge menu.

SideBar will offer dinner service from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. The restaurant will be closed Sundays and Mondays, but the bar will be open seven days a week, Higgins said. SideBar’s bar hours are 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Last month, the SideBar café started serving salads and sandwiches for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The SideBar coffee shop has been open since January.
