Sinclair partners for 3-D printing programs

Sinclair Community College is partnering with Tangible Solutions to develop and offer a variety of 3-D printing education and training programs, according to a media release.

Also known as additive manufacturing, 3-D printing is a rapidly growing segment of the manufacturing industry that allows for rapid prototyping of complex components, often at a fraction of the cost of traditional manufacturing methods, school officials said.

Sinclair and Tangible Solutions, a Beavercreek-based additive manufacturing and engineering design services firm, have partnered to increase local awareness and training opportunities related to 3-D printing.

Their first collaboration is a breakfast briefing about 3-D printing’s capabilities and applications on Tuesday, March 24, at Sinclair’s Conference Center, 444 W. Third St., Dayton. The briefing will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and includes a light continental breakfast. To register, call (937) 252-9787.
