DAYTON — Dayton International Airport is among more than a dozen airports that start-up luxury airline, LV Air, has identified as a potential port for direct flights to and from Las Vegas.

The charter carrier is signing leases for jetliners and raising capital to begin flying from at least three airports this fall, said Bryan Glazer, a spokesman for the company.

LV plans to soon contact Dayton airport officials to gauge interest in the airline, which would offer Boeing 767 non-stop jet service between the local airport and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Glazer said the company would seek a number of concessions from the airports it negotiates with, including waiving take-off and landing fees.

“Some of these airports have already placed an open-call in published news stories trying to entice a carrier like LV Air to start service to Las Vegas from their communities,’’ he said.

Tickets on inaugural flights would start at $100 each way and climb to $400 one-way once the airline is fully operational, according to Glazer.

The airline will offer various services in different flight classes, but all passengers will enjoy the kind of red-carpet treatment reserved for Las Vegas high-rollers, said LV Air CEO Kent Smith.

“LV Air plans to fill the gap left by the major airlines by offering a unique in-flight, luxurious Las Vegas experience,” Smith said. “We are not about just getting you there; we are about getting you there in style.”

First class will feature fully reclining seats for the approximately four-hour flight from Dayton to Las Vegas, and first-class flyers would also enjoy three-course meals prepared by Las Vegas celebrity chefs.

The aircraft will also be equipped with WiFi for in-flight Internet access, mood lighting and seat-to-seat text messaging for all passengers, who would receive pre-flight safety briefings from celebrity holographic videos.

The airline is also negotiating with Las Vegas casino operators to provide such services as direct-to-casino limo rides from the airport.
