Thaler Machine awarded $40,000 state grant

Money is expected to create 35 jobs and retain 76 jobs at Springboro firm.

COLUMBUS — Ohio businesses and communities will receive more than $1.5 million in economic development grants to aid business growth, leveraging capital investment of more than $70 million.

The State Controlling Board today approved grants administered by the Ohio Department of Development that are expected to create 382 jobs and retain 6,469 positions.

“These grants are helping Ohio companies invest in our work force, creating good-paying jobs within our communities and positioning Ohio’s economy for long-term growth,” said Governor Ted Strickland.

“Leveraging substantial investments within our targeted industries helps fuel Ohio’s economy,” said Lisa Patt-McDaniel, Director of the Ohio Department of Development. “The lasting results from these investments will stretch across the State of Ohio, stimulating our economy and creating jobs.”

The Thaler Machine Company will receive a $40,000 Rapid Outreach Grant for the costs associated with the acquisition of new machinery and equipment in support of the company’s project in Springboro. Thaler Machine Company, established in 1952, is a privately owned manufacturer of precision machine components for the aerospace and automotive industries. The company designs and develops components for multiple applications, including prototypes and full-scale production. This project is expected to create 35 jobs and retain 76 positions.
