Time Warner Cable to hire more than 50 local workers

Time Warner Cable will hold a career fair on Wednesday in Dayton to hire more than 50 workers in the coming months in the company’s Dayton and Springfield service areas.

The company will be hiring full-time retail, direct sales, customer care and installation staff, according to a media release.

The successful introduction of new products and technology has created a need for more staff to serve local customers, said Shannon Mullen, Time Warner Cable’s regional vice president, in a statement.

Company officials will accept resumes and interview qualified candidates from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday at Time Warner Cable, 3691 Turner Road, Dayton. Officials will not be able to meet with applicants who arrive at different dates or times than specified.

Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in a 10-minute pre-screening interview. The most qualified candidates will be contacted for a second interview at a later date.

Company officials said the hourly rate for customer care representatives is $10 per hour, plus commission, and $11.10 for installation technicians. The average income for first year direct sales representatives is between $40,000 and $50,000, including paid training and commission. The benefits package includes paid time off; medical, dental and vision plans; 401 (k); and discounted Time Warner Cable services.

Job applicants should bring updated copies of their resume and dress in business-appropriate clothing, officials said.
