• meaningful use criteria in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act;
• claims attachments for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act;
• pay for performance;
• government quality reporting programs.
Miami Valley and Good Samaritan hospitals are among 127 hospitals that have reached Stage 6, while 39 hospitals have reached Stage 7, according to the HIMSS Analytics’ website. In Stage 7 hospitals, staff no longer use paper charts to deliver and manage patient care.
