Construction equipment company increasing Ohio presence, employme

VANDALIA — Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. is acquiring eight locations from fellow John Deere construction equipment dealer Nortrax Equipment, including one in Vandalia at 1015 Industrial Park Drive.

In a prepared release, Tom Udland, president of Murphy Tractor, said the company is looking forward to being part of Ohio’s “redesigned business climate,” and plans to significantly increase the size of the Ohio businesses, including boosting employment.

Based in Wichita, Kansas, Murphy Tractor is one of John Deere’s largest North American construction equipment dealers. The acquisition of eight Ohio locations will give Murphy Tractor 24 locations nationwide. It also has locations in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
