See vibrant, colorful paintings at High Street gallery

It’s a treat to experience the one-woman show by local artist Betsie Molinsky that’s on display through Nov. 20 at the Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors, 48 High St. in St. Anne’s Hill.

The lovely old historic home is filled with Molinsky’s vibrant and colorful paintings — many of flowers and women.

“Dipping into paint and watching what happens, feeling that thrill of pure creative excitement, is what the life of a painter is all about,” said Molinsky. The artist says she is celebrating 25 years of “dancing and painting” at her easel. You can see that easel if you go upstairs and have a peek at the artist’s studio on the second floor.

The resulting artwork fills spaces throughout the building — in the living room and piano room, on the stairway, in the upstairs hall.

You’ll get a real sense of the kinds of vivid paintings Molinsky creates by checking out www.molinskypaintings.com

The show is open from 2-5 p.m. on weekends in November. You can also see it by appointment, (937) 409-0467.
