“Our concept started with the first store in Brookville, and we are excited to be returning to the community,” Dulsky said. “Our timetable is to be open by mid-September.”
The new restaurant will employ about 15 people. The seating capacity will be nearly 100, Dulsky said. A community room for private parties and business meetings will be available. Beer and wine also are part of the restaurant’s plans; it has applied for a license to serve those beverages.
Carmela’s serves New York-style pizza in a buffet and as part of table service. Carryout and delivery will be available as well. It will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
Dulsky, a Centerville resident who founded Carmela’s in 2004, said he plans to expand the Carmela’s chain further in southwest Ohio, but has no specific sites under consideration currently.
And the chain’s expansion may extend farther into other regions of the country. Carmela’s is in the process of merging with Colorado-based Greenfield Farms Food Inc. The transaction is not yet final, but Dulsky said this morning that he expects the merger to be completed soon.
