Pies & Pints, the new craft-beer-and-pizza restaurant coming to The Greene in Beavercreek, has set Aug. 12 as a target date for opening and has launched a social media promotion that will allow some Facebook fans a free sneak peek at the new bar, the tavern chain’s officials announced Tuesday.

The 4,800 square-foot restaurant at 52 Plum St. will employ about 100 people, and will seat about 150, according to Pies & Pints co-owner Rob Lindeman. The location at The Greene will be the fifth for the West Virginia-based chain, and the second in Ohio — a Pies & Pints opened in Worthington in suburban Columbus late last year.

And the chain is still growing: Lindeman said company officials are “currently evaluating and negotiating” a Cincinnati-area location, as well as a second Columbus-area restaurant and additional locations in Florida, Virginia and Alabama.

The Pies & Pints Facebook page is offering Dayton-area residents a “sneak peek and dinner for two” promotion tentatively scheduled for Aug. 9-10 for those who share a photo from the page. The company will name 10 winners (five for each night) on Aug. 2.

The new Pies & Pints at The Greene will feature 35 taps for draught beer and 22 bottled beers, as well as a selection of wines. The menu includes pizza, sandwiches, salads and desserts, and pizza toppings include Thai shrimp, Cuban pork, red grapes and Gorgonzola cheese.

The opening of Pies & Pints is part of a growth spurt for The Greene, which announced in March that it was adding eight stores — four clothing/accessory stores, two restaurants, a spa and a chiropractor’s office — this spring and summer. On Tuesday, Buckle, a men’s and women’s clothing and accessories store, opened its doors to shoppers at 4480 Cedar Park Drive. The eight new stores, plus the expansion of a hair salon, will fill about 33,000 square feet of leased retail and restaurant space and 1,200 square feet of office space when the openings are complete later this year.
