Hamilton’s RiversEdge amphitheater summer concert program announced this year’s Whimmydiddle country festival will not happen.

“That’s a bummer,” said Adam Helms, the city employee who makes the concert arrangements. “That’s the best lineup for a festival we’ve ever put together. Those are some pretty top-notch artists that were coming to play.”

“This one really hurts,” RiversEdge posted on Facebook.

Among bands that had been scheduled to play were JJ Grey & Mofro; Infamous Stringdusters; Larkin Poe; Anderson East and The Steeldrivers.

Whimmydiddle was scheduled for Aug. 14 and 15.

At this time, the first concert that may happen at the amphitheater is scheduled for July 4.
