New restaurant opens in Centerville

CENTERVILLE — Restaurant owners and city officials were on hand today, June 28, for the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of Archer’s Tavern, 9496 Dayton-Lebanon Pike (Ohio 48).

The new tavern, at the former site of Uno’s and later City Flame Grille, pays homage to the city’s history. It is named for John Archer Jr., who opened the Sign of the Crossed Keys Tavern at Main and Franklin streets in 1802.

The restaurant offers “American staple foods, executed at a very high level,” said co-owner Dan Apolito.

Apolito, a Centerville High School graduate, owns the restaurant with Mike Fullenkamp, a Fairmont High School grad, and Scott Dorsten, who graduated from Alter High School.

“We really want to be part of the fabric of the south Dayton community,” Apolito said, adding that they get their meat from Zink’s Meat Market in Centerville and their from uniforms EmbroidMe in Springboro.

“We plan to be here for a long, long time,” Apolito said.

The restaurant’s hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
