I imagine that you’re a lot like me and concerts are an important part of your life.

Coming into 2020 I couldn’t believe our great luck in so many  amazing tours being announced.

Everything from The Stadium tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue returning to the stage plus Poison and Joan Jett to The Black Crowes reunion tour to Foreigner with Kansas and Europe, Sammy Hagar and The Circle with Night Ranger and Whitesnake, Journey with The Pretenders and that isn’t even all of them.

Who would have thought then that we’d have our lives disrupted by a pandemic.

We are all feeling this pain in so many ways.

For so many of us Rock is what makes our days bearable and our lives liveable.

I am one of those people as I imagine you are as well and that’s why you’re still reading this.

Today I read something Dave Grohl wrote for The Atlantic titled "The Day The Live Concert Returns".

It was heartfelt and right on the money for what so many of us are thinking.

He wrote it as a music fan recounting live performances from Freddie Mercury and Queen as well as U2.

Plus tells the story from the perspective of the artist and even tells the story of great advice Bruce Springsteen gave him after watching a Foo Fighters show.

Dave expresses the same need so many of us have "I'm hungry for a big old plate of sweaty, ear-shredding, live rock and roll, ASAP. The kind that makes your heart race, your body move, and your soul stir with passion."

You can tell he lives it just like us.

I feel his pain as a fan and as a musician as well.

I have been lucky enough to play what are for me , big shows, opening for artists I love that I also get to play on the radio.

But to be honest, whether playing on a large stage or shoe horned into a corner in a tiny bar playing Rock live with a band feeds my soul.

If you are feeling that LIVE ROCK missing from your life right now, read Dave’s article, observance, journal entry or whatever you want to call it.

You’ll realize that these artists who we miss, are missing us as well.
