The Barrel House has undergone several different iterations, most notably when owners Gus and Sara Stathes purchased it from Jeff Heater at the end of 2017.

Since then they've implemented many creative changes, including adding a new patio and hosting events aimed at bringing the Dayton community together.

“The past two years have been full of long hours and hard work. Rewarding work, but hard work all the same. We’ve made some incredible relationships, weathered some pretty intense storms alongside our community, and have done our best to give back to the city and its always inspirational people. We’re hoping to celebrate the strength of our city, our crew, and maybe even pat ourselves on the back a little bit with this party,” Sara and Gus wrote.

What’s next for The Barrel House?

“Looking forward to year three and beyond - we’ve got some growing to do. We’ve got some plans and tricks up our sleeves that’ll come to light as the details get ironed out. We don’t ever plan to stop our charitable fundraising efforts, and we’ll never stop hunting for the best beer to put on our taplist and our shelves. It’s what we do. We like to think we’re pretty damn good at it,” they wrote.

The pride they feel isn’t just for their business, but for their community.

“Yeah, we’re proud of our business, but our main source of pride and inspiration is this city. For real. Y’all are some of the strongest, most supportive people on this planet. 2019 has been extremely rough for Dayton, but the community has banded together in ways that have left us speechless. There’s still a lot of work to do for sure, but if anyone can accomplish that mission, it’s the people of Dayton, Ohio.”
