If there’s one overarching theme of the holiday season, it’s that copious amounts of food are expected to be consumed at every holiday party and event. If you’re a vegan, this time of year can be especially challenging as you dodge cheese platters and heaping helpings of ham.
Thankfully, however, vegans (or those who just have an appreciation for vegan food and beverages) now have one special day to consume every vegan-friendly holiday delicacy. On Sunday, Dec. 8, the organizers of Dayton’s popular Vegan Food and Drink Festival are back with the Dayton Vegan Holiday Market.
“I have been to so many vegan and vegetarian festivals in Ohio and thought it's about time Dayton has one, too,” said Da’Ves Malone, the event’s organizer and owner of Sprouting Dreams LLC.
The free event will take place at the Brightside Music & Event Venue from 1-5 p.m. and feature 30 vegan, vegan-friendly and plant-based vendors, from HelloFresh to Young Living Essential Oils.
“The focus of the market and festival is to have a space for vegan/plant-based companies and those vegan-friendly companies to market and grow their business,” said Malone. “The goal is to help entrepreneurs grow their following and introduce new customers.”
Along with a plethora of vegan vendors offering everything from sweets to jewelry, the Dayton Vegan Holiday Market will also be entertaining its guests with live music and a cash bar.
