Blind Bob’s will be full of veterans who rock this weekend.

The Oregon District live music venue is hosting a special event for the nonprofit, “Operation Encore,” on Friday at 9 p.m. “Soldiers, Stories and Songs” will be a music show with performances by talented veteran musicians performing their original music.

There is a $5 cover for the show. All proceeds from the event will benefit Operation Encore’s artists.

Operation Encore is an all-volunteer organization that currently includes 23 veteran musicians from across the country and features country star Lucas Hoge on its Board of Directors. Friday’s event is a milestone for the nonprofit, as the show will be the first Ohio event for the organization.

The artists performing at “Soldiers, Stories and Songs” include:

• Andrew Wiscombe (Utah), former Army sniper

• Shannon Book (Austin, Texas), former Fleet Marine Force Hospital Corpsman

• Stephen Covell (Austin, Texas), former combat medic

• Zack Sliver (Dayton, Ohio), former Marine Corps Field Radio Operator. Zack Sliver will be performing with his band Yuppie. Also performing alongside Operation Encore will be special guest Benny Bodine (Dayton) of Next to Nowhere.
