Don’t miss this amazing event at popular Springfield brewery

Since opening last summer, Mother Stewart’s Brewing has continued to up its game day by day, event by event and beer by beer. For the holidays, it's going all out.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, it will play host to an event called Aberration: Immure Pomp.

The event, modeled after one Mother Stewart's hosted in April that saw more than 700 people come through the doors over the course of the day, is expected to draw record crowds to the Springfield brewery this weekend.

The event, a combination of live music, arts festival and general merrymaking centered around pints of beer, will kick off at 6 p.m.
Bands scheduled to play include Gabe Judy (6 p.m.), April and June (7 p.m.), Once a Pine (8 p.m.), Kevin Callison (9 p.m.) and B.A.D. (10 p.m.).
Work from 15 artists will be displayed and shown over the course of the evening.

With more than 180 craft breweries across the state, Ohio's 12th largest city was missing a brewery until last year, when Mother Stewart's opened its doors. The $2.5 million project has already given a big boost to the neighborhood. Named after one of the leaders of the temperance movement 130 years ago and housed in the former Springfield Metallic Casket Company, it's a venue and a story that you can't help but lean into when it's being told.

Here are 10 reasons to consider going:
1) The art. With beer available as far as the eye can see, this is the spot to shop for some holiday gifts from talented local artists.
2) It's dog friendly. Man's best friend is welcome here. In fact, there are water bowls, a large outdoor green area to talk them, and if you ask nicely there might even be a milk bone behind the bar for you.
3) It's kid friendly. There's a play area for kids and there are some games to keep them occupied.
4) It's the start of a tradition. Co-founder and co-owner Kevin Lofts says they are going to be doing these twice a year. Attending this year makes you an early adopter.
5) Girl power. Half of the bands playing are driven by women, which is the exception, not the rule when it comes to live music.
6) It's photogenic. Get Instagram fired up because this industrial setting is easy on the eyes and makes for a great photoshoot with friends — especially with a few holiday decorations hung up here and there.
7) It's friendly. The staff is always ready to help out, lend a hand, give advice, grab a beer.
8) It has room. Traveling in a pack? Chances are you will be able to find seating with the expansive space, number of tables and large bar.
9) The venue. The property features local artwork throughout the taproom, includes an outdoor beer garden and a large stage for live music.
10) Krampus. Because any event being represented by an illustration of Krampus drinking a beer with a Gene Simmons tongue and snowflake eyes is going to be worth going to.
