You can almost smell the bacon in the air.

The fifth annual Bacon Fest will take over the Fraze Pavilion, 695 Lincoln Park Boulevard in Kettering, with porky fun from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. 

The event sponsored by the Fraze and Miami Valley Restaurant Raiders — a monthly “foodie” group that visits local restaurants — features bacon treats from 15 locally owned restaurant.

Admission is free for the event, and includes performances in Lincoln Park by The Muleskinner Band at 1 p.m., Buzzard Kings at 3 p.m. and Spinning Jenny at 5 p.m.

Amy Zahora, the event organizer and executive director of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association, said there will be new treats, like Basils on Market's donuts with bacon bits and maple syrupRoost American's pancakes with brown sugar and bacon jam, and the bacon-rito (ground beef and bacon, cheesy rice, smoked garlic, enchilada sauce in a flour tortilla with tequila lime crema) that Coco's Bistro plans to sell.

"One of the favorites are the bacon pierogies from Amber Rose and everyone loves the bacon crab cakes from The Dock," she said. "One thing new I think people are going to go wild over is that  Sweet-Umms (Chocolatier)

is doing white chocolate covered bacon.”

So much bacon.
