If you’re looking for a fun, educational way to celebrate the 4th of July... or if you’re just trying to escape the weather for something fun indoors, the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery has you covered.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m July 4, the museum will host its annual “Red White and Boonshoft,” which features Independence Day festivities both inside and outside the venue.
“We’ve planned a summer extravaganza for our visitors this year, with indoor fireworks, rockets, and lots of fun science to celebrate our national holiday,“ said Dawn Kirchner, Vice President of Education at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery.
Expect activities galore, including rocket stations, experiments and learning the science behind 4th of July fireworks. Children can also enjoy face-painting, interact with some animals from the Discovery Zoo and be greeted by Uncle Sam.
Local food vendors will be located outside the Museum entrance to satisfy your hunger and thirst.
The main event is the spectacular indoor fireworks show, “Patriotic Skies.” The show will be held in the Museum’s Caryl D. Philips Space Theater at 3 p.m.
