Summertime in Dayton means warm weather and long days. It also means new flavors, new dishes and a new menu over at Lily's Bistro.

Lily's Bistro, 329 E 5th St, will be hosting The Summer Menu Tasting on Wednesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. The tasting features 10 small plates served over five courses with five cocktail and beer tastings.

“Summer is definitely one of our favorite seasons,” Owner Emily Mendenhall said in a media release. “Whether you want to enjoy a drink on the bar patio, dine with your pup at the sidewalk patio or have dinner in the garden on our back patio, there are a number of ways to enjoy the great weather.”

Highlights of the new menu include the return of Lily's popular summer grilled peaches, filled with cream cheese, goat cheese, and almonds, a revamped local, free-range chicken enchilada, and new items such as a Shrimp Veracruz and a "farmer's gratin" of seasonal vegetables baked with mozzarella.

Cost is $70 including tax and tip, and are available at the restaurant or online at eventbrite.com.

The final week of Lily's spring menu is June 6-11.

Bar Manager Amber Brady said the summer menu tasting features a number of seasonal beer and cocktail samples.

“We’re focusing on refreshing,” Brady said. “Beers and lighter cocktails, cool and with unique flavors.”
