The Gem City will be celebrating its proud, nationally-recognized brewery scene next month when 13 Dayton breweries converge on downtown Dayton.
The third annual BEER! A Celebration of Dayton Brewing is set for Saturday, July 16 at The Yellow Cab, 700 E 4th Street in downtown Dayton, from 1-5 p.m.
Cost $25 in advance and $30 at the doors, with $5 designated driver tickets available.
The 13 participating breweries include Warped Wing Brewing Company, Toxic Brew Company, Yellow Springs Brewery, Fifth Street Brewpub, Carillon Brewing Co., Crooked Handle Brewing Co., Star City Brewing Company, Eudora Brewing Company, Lucky Star Brewery, Hairless Hare Brewery, Lock 27 Brewing, Dayton Brew Company Downtown, and Nowhere In Particular.
"It's crazy to think that four years ago Dayton didn't have a single operating brewery," organizer Brian Johnson said. "Even more amazing is the quality of all of the breweries that have popped up since then. Whether you like hoppy, dark, experimental or a more traditional style, it's being brewed here and it's brewed well."
Each ticket for BEER! is good for a 13 six-ounce pours and serves as your vote in the coveted "Dayton's Best Brewery, People Choice Awards."
“It’s fun to see what people are up to,” Johnson said. “There are a number of brewpub favorites showcased, but there have also been a few surprises just for this event.”
The event is more than just the beer, as there will be live music, food trucks and an official after party at Yellow Cab.
Tickets can be purchased at all Dayton local breweries and through the Yellow Cab website. The event is for ages 21 and up.
