The restaurant at 529 E. Fifth St. in Dayton’s Oregon District is hosting both a Christmas Eve Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 24, and a Fried Chicken and Champagne dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“The holidays are all about spending quality time with loved ones, and excellent food always makes a good time even better,” Lily’s Bistro Owner Emily Mendenhall said in a release. “This is the favorite time of year for so many in our community, and we want to celebrate the season with you!”

The two meals will feature favorites from Lily’s traditional menus in addition to seasonal specials created to capture the Christmas spirit. Traditional brunch options range from beignets to biscuits and gravy, while local, free-range fried chicken will take the spotlight during dinner service.
In addition to fried chicken, several entrees are available during the evening event, including Shrimp & Grits; Cabernet-braised Brisket with Mashed Potatoes, Baby carrots and Red-Wine Demi-glace; and Butternut Squash Lasagna. Champagne and other sparkling wines, as well as dessert options, also will also be available in the evening.

The Caroline
The Caroline at 5 S. Market St. in Troy will host a special Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Selections will include several salad options, including Italian Pasta Salad and Mediterranean Mushroom Salad; appetizers such as egg rolls and Swedish meatballs; entree options such as Carved Roast Prime Rib of Beef Aus Jus, Carved Ham with Mustard Creole Sauce, Asian-Style Salmon, and Grilled Chicken Breast Francese, served with green beans and mashed potatoes. Dessert options will include assorted cheesecakes and chocolate cake.

The cost is $29 for adults, $15 for children 5 to 12, and free for children under 5. A kids menu will be available. For more information, call (937) 552-7676.
The Caroline will be closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 26, and will reopen at 4 p.m. Dec. 27.
Mudlick Tap House
Mudlick Tap House at 135 E. Second St. in downtown Dayton is hosting what it calls “A Griswold's Christmas Eve Brunch” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 24.
"The halls will be decked, so come dressed as your favorite character and enjoy a specially crafted menu as you eat, drink and be merry Griswold style," Mudlick's owners said in a Facebook event notice. "Who wants pictures with Santa when you can make holiday memories with Cousin Eddie? Cousin Eddie will be here to spread the cheer all day long!"

A Griswold-themed brunch menu will be available, but the restaurant’s regular menu will be offered as well. A kids menu also will be available.

Sweeney’s Seafood Bar & Grill
Sweeney’s, at 28 W. Franklin St. in downtown Centerville, opens at 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and the last order must be in to the kitchen by 8:30 p.m.
The restaurant’s 2019 Holiday Menu includes a “Santa’s Cinnful Martini” drink feature, House-Made Crab and Asparagus Bisque, Smoked Salmon Flatbread, Crab Rangoon, Fresh Chilean Sea Bass broiled and topped with House-Made Beurre Blanc Sauce and served with Fresh Vegetable Medley and Salad, Crab and Scallop-Stuffed Sole Roulades topped with House-Made Lobster Cream Sauce and served with Fresh Asparagus and Salad, and a 10-ounce Frenched Pork Rib Chop topped with House-Made BBQ Sauce and served with White Truffle Mashed Potatoes and Salad. Regular and children’s menus will also be available.
