The organization was the recipient of the 2010 Better Business Eclipse Integrity award for Non-profit Organizations. Services provided are geared to advance the physical, mental, educational and emotional well-being of children who have been abused or neglected.
Geib says there are times when children are referred to foster care and arrive with very little clothing and, sometimes, only what they’re wearing.
Here’s what they need:
• Underwear, bras, undershirts and socks for children 2 – 18.
• Personal-hygiene products for children and families, including soap, body wash, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and feminine-care products.
“Many of the families that are being served through reunification services receive food stamps for assistance, and personal-hygiene items are not an approved expense on that program,” Geib adds.
Donations can be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Agape for Youth Inc., 2621 Dryden Road, Suite 202, Dayton. (45439) For more information, call (937) 439–4406.
