To say Belmont's soccer team has international appeal somehow would not be saying enough.

As Tom Archdeacon reports, the Dayton high school soccer team lead by Julie Raiff has two girls and features members from 18 nations and 4 continents.

Shadrack “Michael” Ilunga, a sophomore defender who grew up in South Africa after being born in the Congo, agreed.

"The soccer ball unites us all,"  Ilunga, a Congo-born sophomore who grew up in South Africa, told Archdeacon.
