Dayton one of nation’s BEST St. Patrick’s cities — clobbers Cleveland, Cincy and Columbus, study says

We already know Dayton is the place to be for the St. Paddy’s holiday.

The rest of Ohio and the U.S. are about to find out.

According to new report by WalletHub, a personal finance website that occasionally throws out studies on pop culture topics, Dayton is the 10th best city when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day excitement.

 

The Gem City is wedged between Rockford, Ill., and Milwaukee (see what we did there) on the list.

To determine its rankings, the website says it compared the nation’s largest 200 cities across 17 key metrics, including Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, St. Patrick’s Day weather forecast, beer price, number of parties per capita and lowest price for a three-star hotel.

Cleveland, the only other Ohio city in the top 20, landed in 12th place.

Cincinnati came in 33rd. Columbus landed in 38th place and Akron came in in 38th.

Toledo came in much farther down the list in 122nd place.

Chicago tops the list followed by Philadelphia, Madison Wis., Boston and Tampa.
