An announcement was made from the stage following a recent staging of “Book of Mormon” at the Schuster Center that donations would be accepted for victims of the Aug. 4 mass shooting in the Oregon District, the Victoria Theatre Association spokeswoman told this news organization.
Theater-goers responded in a big way.
Theater staff and cast members collected $23,934.43 in buckets at the door.
"This was just people opening their wallets and basically emptying them into these buckets," Schoeffler-Warren said.

"We, at Victoria Theatre Association, are amazed and humbled," Victoria Theatre Association President Ty Sutton said. "Thanks to the cast and crew of THE BOOK OF MORMON for embracing Dayton and joining the effort.
