DIY Under $10: card holder

This fun display prevents clutter.

This time of year probably means your mailbox is full of holiday cards.

I always hate throwing them out because they can be so festive and fun, but it can start to look cluttered with them displayed around my home. If you are looking for a quick and easy way to display your cards, but not fill up all your table space, check out this do-it-yourself card holder. It takes no time at all to make and can be customized to fit any color scheme.

Plus, to top it off, it only cost $2.99 to make.

You will need

Items I purchased:

• 1 used picture frame — $2.99 at Goodwill

Items I already had:

• Red acrylic paint

• Glue gun

• Glue sticks

• Foam brush

• Holiday ribbons

• Mod Podge

Directions

1. Remove your glass from your frame.

2. Paint your frame and let dry. You may need two coats to cover completely.

3. Apply a coat of Mod Podge to your frame to seal in the paint.

4. Using the holiday ribbon of your choice, cut strips long enough to stretch across and around your frame.

5. Once your ribbon is cut, use your hot glue gun and secure the ribbon to the back side of the frame on both sides. Make sure your ribbon is straight before you glue it down.

6. Add about five or six strips of ribbon to your frame.

7. Place your cards over the ribbon and hang on the wall.
