DIY under $10: unique bulletin boards

Start with a fabric you like.

Bulletin boards can be a useful thing in an office, but the standard bulletin board you buy in the store can be boring. For just $6.86, you can create a different looking bulletin board that is just as functional as the traditional board, but still has your personal style.

You will need

Items I purchased:

• 3-pack of corkboard trivets — $2.99 at Ikea

• 3 types of fabric fat quarters - $1.29 each at Hancock Fabric

Items I already had:

• Scissors

• Glue gun

• Glue sticks

Directions

1. Cut out a square of the fabric and place your road piece of cork in the center.

2. Cut 1-inch strips around the fabric until it meets the edge of the cork.

3. Begin wrapping these strips around the board and hot glue them in place on the back side.

4. Go completely around the cork board until the side and front are completely wrapped.

5. Repeat these steps on the other two cork board trivets.

6. Once all three are covered, hang on the wall and you can use them just like another bulletin board.
