Project a fun way to use candy corn from Halloween

YOUR HOMEWORK

Before all of the leaves are gone, go for a nature walk and collect some beautiful fall leaves. Place them inside the pages of a big book and save them for an upcoming project that you’ll see in this space soon.

You may still have some Halloween candy corn around your home. If not, you can still buy some for this fun and whimsical way to use the candy for your decor.

This project will cost roughly only $8.68 to make.

You will need

Items I purchased:

Styrofoam ball — $3.99 at Michael’s

4 bags of candy corn — $1 each at Dollar Tree

Yellow acrylic paint — 69 cents at Michael’s

Items I already had around the house:

Hot glue gun

Glue sticks

Foam brush

Plastic cup

Wooden peg (a skewer or toothpick would also work)

Black candlestick

Directions

1. Use a wooden peg or skewer and place into the Styrofoam ball so that you can hold the ball while painting it.

2. Use your yellow paint and paint the entire Styrofoam ball. Place on top of a plastic cup to let dry.

3. Begin hot gluing the yellow side of your candy corn onto the ball in a straight line around the entire piece.

4. Continue doing this in lines around the entire ball. Make sure the candy corn is glued tightly together eliminating as many gaps as you can.

5. Leave an empty spot the size of the candlestick top on the bottom of your ball. This will allow your ball to sit and be stable without damaging the candy corn.

6. Once all candy corn is glued to the ball it is ready to be displayed.
