What’s all the Hoopla?

We are on the cusp of the holiday hoopla. In a society where twinkle lights and tree garland can be found in most stores long before the Halloween costumes have been marked down for clearance, one really must brace themselves for the seasonal tsunami the last two months of the year inevitably brings.

Washington-Centerville Public Library provides a different kind of holiday hoopla that can provide a budget-friendly respite from the hustle and bustle of the season. With your library card you can access Hoopla to download all kinds of festive movies, audiobooks and music to put you in the spirit, without putting you over the edge. Access Hoopla, a part of the Library’s eCollection, to:

  • Download a holiday movie — Access traditional favorites featuring Bing Crosby or animated movies like the Muppets. Hoopla offers a diverse selection that includes movies about Hanukkah as well. Movies check out for three days at a time.
  • Download a CD to serve as a backdrop for a holiday gathering — Don’t worry about creating your own holiday playlist. Download traditional and contemporary holiday tunes via Hoopla and keep them for a week.
  • Download an audiobook to listen to while dashing around in your sleigh — Whether it’s a holiday themed book or just something by your favorite author, a good audiobook downloaded to your smart phone can make running errands or longer trips to grandmother’s house a lot more enjoyable. Just like their print counterparts, digital audiobooks check out for 3 weeks.

Check out all the items available for checkout via the eCollection. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
