The crash was reported at 7:19 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.
A preliminary investigation indicated Gerlach was driving north on South Linden Avenue shortly before 7:20 p.m. when he failed to negotiate the curve and drove onto private property, Miamisburg police reported.
Medics took Gerlach to Kettering Health Miamisburg, where he was pronounced dead, according to Miamisburg police.
Gerlach was the vehicle’s only occupant.
The crash remains under investigation by the Miamisburg Police Department.
