The Dayton Police Department seeks help identifying a theft suspect.

The Dayton Police Department is searching for help identifying a theft suspect who attempted to steal a pickup truck and but did take a victim’s wallet and credit cards.

Initial reports show that the suspect jumped into a victim’s running truck on May 16. The truck was parked near an ATM. The truck’s owner jumped into the truck bed to stop the suspect. The suspect reportedly fled the scene with the owner in the back, but a short time later stopped the truck and ran away with the victim’s wallet.

Later, a man used the stolen credit cards at businesses in the area of Salem Avenue and Free Pike, Dayton Police reported.

The suspect is between 45 and 55 and is about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. If you recognize the suspect or have any information regarding the incident, call Dayton Police at 937-333-COPS or Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP.
