UPDATE: 1 dead in 4-vehicle crash on I-75 North in Dayton

A person was killed in a four-vehicle crash that closed Interstate 75 North near downtown Dayton Thursday morning.

Dayton police said the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office is responding.

All I-75 North lanes are closed at West Second Street/Salem Avenue, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation’s traffic website. The left lane of I-75 South is also closed.

“The area is expected to be shutdown for several hours, please use an alternate route of travel,” read a post on the Dayton Police and Fire Facebook account.

The crash was reported at I-75 North and U.S. 35 at 10:55 a.m. Two semi trucks, a work van and a work pickup truck were involved, according to police.
