Kings Island and its sister park Cedar Point will be open weekends only beginning next month.

The Mason amusement park, which opened July 2, is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, daily operations will stop Aug. 4. The park will be open mostly weekends only, with some extended hours until 10 p.m., through Labor Day.

Kings Island and Cedar Point are both no longer requiring reservations to visit.

Cedar Point in Sandusky, which opened July 9 for the season, posted its new hours Friday on social media.

The reduction in hours is likely due to low attendance and difficulty hiring workers during the coronavirus pandemic, Cleveland.com reported, citing industry experts.

Cedar Point is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, but beginning Monday, Aug. 17 the park will only be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day, according to the park’s updated hours.

Fall dates will be announced later for both parks.
