The NWS first confirmed that there was a tornado near West Milton and Tipp City approximately between 5:55 and 6:15 p.m. and said that a survey would provide additional details.
It also noted two other locations in our area where damage was believed to be caused by tornadoes.
First, it said there was damage in southeastern Darke County, to the south of Pitsburg, which happened around 5:40 p.m.
It also said there was damage in Clark County, near Lawrenceville, which occurred around 6:35 p.m.
The NWS said that damage reports from other locations are still arriving, so additional surveys could be possible.
It said it will develop a specific plan for surveys Thursday morning.
The NWS asked that anyone who observed weather-related damage report it via severe weather reporting methods, by interacting with the NWS in Wilmington on social media, or by calling 937-383-0031.
