Miller was promoted to colonel in June 2016. He assumed command of the 88th Air Base Wing four years later, succeeding Col. Thomas Sherman.
Miller came to Wright-Patterson from the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, where he served as vice commander.
He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1997 and became a second lieutenant in January 1998, according to his Air Force biography.
The Department of Defense first announced Miller’s nomination for promotion in early March. Questions were sent to the Air Base Wing about his next assignment.
The 88th Air Base Wing is the host unit for Wright-Patterson, one of the biggest Air Force bases, home to some 32,000 military and civilian employees.
It’s at Wright-Patterson that the Air Force Materiel Command manages more than a third of the total Air Force budget.
