12-year-old boy shot in Trotwood, knocks on door for help

A 12-year-old boy who was shot Thursday night in Trotwood knocked on someone’s door for help.

Police and medics were called shortly before 9:45 p.m. to the 6100 block of Lorimer Street on a report of a gunshot victim.

A caller told a 911 dispatcher that a boy who said he was shot and who was heavily bleeding knocked on the door for help.

The boy apparently was hit multiple times, in the arm, back and stomach in the shooting that happened a block away in the 6000 block of Lorimer Street, according to a call log from the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

Another 911 caller reported hearing six gunshots, records show.

The gunshot victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and then transferred to Dayton Children’s Hospital, where his condition is unknown.

A police K-9 track following the shooting did not find the shooter, according to reports. Trotwood police are continuing to investigate.
