Alleged Gunman Arrested In Northland Village Shooting

Deputies have arrested the man, they believe, shot 21-year-old Deon Ramey at the Northland Village apartment complex in Harrison Township.

Several hours after the shooting, deputies arrested Sean Powers, 32, off of Gettysburg Ave. in Dayton.

As Powers was taken to jail in handcuffs, News Center 7’s Danielle Elias asked him if he, in fact, shot Ramey. Powers said, “Yeah I shot him; I shot him a couple times…because he is menace…he threatened my wife and my kids with a gun, not once but a couple of times.”

The shooting happened Friday afternoon on Palisades Drive. Ramey was shot four times, once to the face, once to the chest and two other places, deputies said.

Ramey was removed from the scene in critical condition and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

Powers could possibly be charged with felonious assault, and if Ramey dies in the hospital he could be charged with murder, deputies said.
