Area’s top-ranked assisted-living facilities

Sycamore Glen in Miamisburg, Oak Creek Terrace in Kettering and Grace Brethren Village in Englewood were the three highest-ranked assisted-living facilities in the Dayton metro area, according to a survey conducted by the Ohio Department of Aging.

The survey of nearly 50,000 residents of nursing homes and assisted-living centers was conducted between August and December 2015.

More than half of the nursing homes and assisted-living facilities in our nine-county area scored above the statewide average in a resident satisfaction survey released this week.

Greenville was home to the highest-ranked facilities in our region: Village Green Health Campus was Ohio’s seventh-ranked assisted-living facility and Brethren Retirement Community was No. 13 among nursing homes.

Among nursing homes in the Dayton metro area, National Church Residences Legacy Village in Xenia ranked No. 15 in the state. Otterbein Middletown in Franklin was ranked No. 24.

The statewide average score for assisted living facilities was 91.7. For nursing homes, the average score was 87.

The lowest-scoring assisted-living facilities in the Dayton area: Pristine Senior Living & Post-Acute Care of Dayton, No. 620; The Cottages of Clayton, No. 613, Brookdale Kettering, No. 601.

The lowest-scoring nursing homes in the area: Dunbar Health & Rehab Center, No. 930; Cedars of Lebanon Care Center, No. 926; Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community, Dayton, No. 901.
