Authorities said a lot of things happened at the home on Wednesday. Things that threatened the safety of a family, firefighters, police officers and a pit bull.
Family members involved said it started with the actions Green.
Police officers ended two intense hours when they walked out of a home on Malvern with Green in custody. They said he started the trouble by starting a fire in his daughter’s car.
Latoria Green said, “He stole gold coins from me and I told him that he was not allowed in the house.”
Latoria Green said she left a note for her father about her wishes. Police said Tyrone Green responded by leaving a death threat on her car and then torched it. Lt. David Sherrer said that Tyrone Green then assaulted his daughter and ran into the house.
Officers surrounded the house that Tryone Green shares with his daughter and several other family members. They said he let loose a pit bull that belongs to the family.
Officers said they shot the dog through the door as it charged at them. Police considered putting the dog down, but an animal control officer arrived and took the injured dog to a vet.
Officers then charged into the home and found Tyrone Green asleep. Police said Tyrone Green will face felony arson and assault on an officer charges.
Police arrested his nephew, Randall Green, on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct because he tried to get to the house to check on his dog before police cleared the home.
