Emergency crews worked for hours Monday afternoon to extricate a car and eventually Tabiri’s body from a pond at Cornerstone Consolidated on West Chester Road.

Crews used sonar to locate the body in the pond after a black, four-door Nissan was pulled from the water.

Martin Schneider, administrator for the coroner’s office, said their office and the West Chester Police Department are continuing to investigate the incident.

An employee at a business where the pond is located called police to report that some landscaping had been damaged near the pond. Police who responded found tire tracks leading into the water and called the fire department. Rescue divers then went into the water and found the car and the body.
