Black Cultural Festival Scene Of Bootleg Items

Police raided the Black Cultural Festival Sunday night and arrested several people on suspicion of selling illegal CDs and videos.

Authorities said six people were arrested and lots of CDs, DVDs, knock-off designer clothing and cash were confiscated. Officers rushed through the festival gates after getting a tip from the motion picture and music industry investigators who travel the country looking for fraud.

Police said the people arrested are facing possible felony charges of criminal simulation and copyright infringement.

It was the 24th year for the event and organizers said despite the bootleg bust, the festival was successful. It's an annual event that celebrates African and African-American culture through food, live music and wares.
