UPDATE @ 7 p.m.:
A family cat died in the house fire on Marlin Avenue, according to the Trotwood fire department.
The fire initially started from the stove and progressed causing damage within the house.
The Red Cross is responding and the family will have to stay somewhere else for the night as crews continue to survey the damage, according to the Trotwood fire crew on scene.
INITIAL REPORT:
Fire crews are investigating a structure fire in the 4500 block of Marlin Avenue.

Harrison Twp. and Trotwood fire departments responded to the scene.
We are working to learn if anyone was injured and how severe the damage is.
