Robert Girouard, 55, of Covington, was driving a semi truck registered to Midnight Transfer, a Bradford business, the report read.
INITIAL REPORT:
Northbound I-75 at Main Street in Dayton reopened early Tuesday morning after a massive coil of steel fell off a back of a semi Monday night.
The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. Monday. Workers with Sandy's Towing were cutting up the massive rolled steel sheet and were using a crane to lift the sections off the highway.

We're hearing the driver of the semi suffered a cut to his face when a piece of steel that had fallen off his flatbed trailer hit him in his face. Dayton police took the driver to a hospital.

Northbound lanes were shut down for about three hours. Motorists were able to come north as far as Main Street, where they was diverted off the highway and allowed back on at the North Main on-ramp.

We’re working to learn if the driver will be cited and if the highway sustained any damage.
