Officials found heroin worth an estimated $70,000 in a traffic stop on westbound Interstate 70 in Huber Heights on Wednesday.

Alejandro Giron, 27, of Chihuahua, Mexico was arrested on Drug Trafficking and Possession of Drugs following the stop. His vehicle was pulled over after the Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force learned the vehicle was transporting a large amount of heroin, according to a news release.

“This is another example of the ongoing battle against drug cartels bringing in illegal drugs into our communities,” said Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer.
